Flatworms
Fasciolopsis buski is a type of flatwarm, it is the largest intestinal
fluke of humans (up to 7.5 cm in length). The disease caused by Fasciolopsis
buski is called Fasciolopsiasis.

Fasciolopsis buki can be fund within small intestine, but can sometimes
penetrate to liver and pancreas. It causes chronic diarrhoea and inflammation.
If several flukes are present they can cause obstruction, abscesses
and verminous intoxication, an allergic reaction to toxins in the flukes’
metabolic wastes.
Human infection can be prevented by controlling snails, avoiding uncooked
vegetation and stopping to use the human excreta for fertilization.
The symptoms of infection:
-stomach or abdominal pain
-tiredness
-diarrhoea
-sleepiness
-swelling in the legs
-in man there might be different types of swelling on the scrotum
